What sucks about UT

I like playing UT.
There's one thing I don't like: the uneven playing field.
How is it possible that I need ten bullets to kill someone (in the head) and somebody else kills me with one or two bullets, both with the same weapon. I am wearing a helmet.
So some people are playing in some privileged mode. I guess the people running the server are and some others kissing their asses.
I don't like to kiss asses. So will I always be at a disadvantage? What's fun about that? Are there servers in which everybody is equal?
Can anybody please explain?
Thanks.

It's called getting better and learning how to aim (focus on your crosshair not the enemy, don't fire a shot until you're on the target, and don't spam bullets). That comes with practice and more play time. You are not shooting someone in the head 10 times, period. There is no cheat or anything you can to protect against that. You may be shooting AT somone's head, but you are not hitting them. There are some very wide skill gaps in this game and that is all that you're experiencing. Be patient, keep playing, and you'll get there.

Might be any of a couple of things going on here. First is high vs low ping, I often play games where I have 300 ping and its common to hit someone several times but already be dead. It could also be that you are holding down the fire button for too long - urban terror has a very high spread after just a couple of bullets fired. You can also try using a small dot for your crosshair instead of one of the ridiculous large sizes - it will give you a much better representation of where your bullets are going.

It seems like the OP hasn't read this:
http://don.pugbot.com/guides/shooting/
My personal hints..
turn the hit sounds on
if constantly jumping between map ends is not your game style, wear helmet and kevlar
aim for the head and upper torso
consider playing with the laser "sight"
Control the recoil. Fire in bursts. AK is good for may be two shots before its spread is too big. G36 - maybe 3. M4 - 3-4 shots.
