Well I havent really been able to get any better performance yet. Over on IRC I asked about it and was told to add:

export R600_DEBUG=hyperz

to my startup script. Didnt really seem to change anything.

But I just wanted to share that the whole time I was setting graphics settings to low in an attempt to get better frame rates. Well a couple days ago I decided to just set everything to max and see what effect it had. Turns out it had no negative impact on my frame rates. So that is very nice.
