I'm having this issue where I'm not able to download maps, it will give me the same error as when the dlURL is wrong on the server, but it does this with every server. With the problems with the qkey, I use Linux and I do like to play 4.1 sometimes, but using the linux client, they both use the .q3a folder causing problems with my 4.1 qkey. Everytime I startup 4.2 it will create a new qkey.

well. this sounds like you or UrT is havingtrouble with write permissions on the base path.

you could try setting the fs_basepath as a startup var, so you use the urt installation path instead of your homepath.
Sorry for my bad spelling - I am still asleep. :)

What if you make qkey read-only?

Run terminal, go inside your UrbanTerror42 dir (for example: cd /home/user/games/UrbanTerror42) create (touch urt.sh) edit (nano -w urt.sh) and paste this to opened file "urt.sh" and make it executable (chmod +x urt.sh):

#!/bin/bash

GAME_BIN="Quake3-UrT.i386" # or Quake3-UrT.x86_64

GAME_DIR="$( cd "$( dirname "${BASH_SOURCE[0]}" )" && pwd )"
$GAME_DIR/$GAME_BIN +set fs_homepath $GAME_DIR $@

You can do the same with UrT 4.1, just remember to change game binary name (GAME_BIN) in script "urt.sh"
