I have this annoying black circle around my screen ever since I updated. Strange thing is, whenever I die it disappears for a bit then comes back when I respawn. Seems like a glitch, but if it's not, how do I turn it off?

It's distracting and annoying, particularly how it disappears and reappears, but mostly, I just want to get rid of it.

Worst case, I'll have to increase FOV and use the hardware scaling on my monitor where it "trims" the edges, really don't want to have to resort to that.

This definitely is a glitch. A circle that disappears while you’re dead sounds like tacs, although why you don’t see its other features I can’t even begin to guess. Really weird.

This is an easy fix , do not use tacs; boom problem solved.

Try to check the checksums or your files. I guess something went wrong while updating.

Missing/broken 0030 or 0029 will not cause this. (At least not for me:-P)

Have you downloaded/created any maps recently? Wouldn’t be the first time a careless mapper includes a shader that messes up the game.
