Discogib script for multicolored Instagib smoke trails Rate Topic: -----

A simple script I made to get a new color of the smoke trail with every shot in Instagib games. Limitations: only works if you use the TOD50 as a semi-automatic and if the server has g_armbands 0. Otherwise the color stays fixed but everything works as normal.

Since this affects your armband, you probably don't want this enabled outside Instagib games so it's best kept as a separate script file to \exec. To undo it simply \bind MOUSE1 +attack.

i fear the inevitable "Ignored due to sv_floodprotect" incoming. also, NEVER bind complex +vstr actions that include +attack. ends badly :)

Yes, I just noticed it is sort of ruined by floodprotect. Didn't notice before because that's off on the FS test servers.

It works fine with +attack the way it is now, which is why there's a -discogib. I tried it with just +vstr +discogib -attack first but that didn't register the -attack. Putting it inside a new -discogib alias fixes it for some reason.

Well yes, thats one of the "features" around the engine built in +ACTION commands. What i mean is that there is a chance it will cycle itself out and keep attacking even if you release the key. ingame easily fixed by pressing the button again in this case, still can be an issue in other scripts.


For a safer version you could always turn it into one of the classic toggles:
