Check out the shader for superman. I did some layer tricks to make the camera look like it does, i.e. green hue, screen texture, etc. Plus, you should have noticed that it's a quake-fangled 3D monitor so you can jump up and look down. I placed the monitor where it is to minimize the 3D effect.

Note how I did not follow the standard id software tradition of adding moving scanlines to every screen visible. Why does id insist that monitors must all have scanlines????

Also zellis, to make sure you understand, the camera model in the hallway has nothing to do with the actual display shown on the monitor. It's only a prop model for astetics.

Thanks for the pointers duck, im still a map newbie so any help is great. I was finally able to get my camera working perfect last night, I basically had to reverse engineer the shader file referenced on the link that NulL provided to make it work the way I wanted. I still need to play around with it to see what it can do.
There seems to be a problem with the shader you posted, I can’t view it or DL it. Could you post it here by chance? Here is the one I came up with for starters. No trick stuff, just a plain camera shader.
Thanks again.

surfaceparm nolightmap

map textures/camera/portal.tga //texture should be a lighter shade

GL_ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA
depthWrite
blendfunc gl_dst_color gl_zero
alphagen portal 512 //increese for view distance

}
}

On the Superman note, there are a few of us hardcore fans Wily, so thanks.

Think you will ever update it to say, add more jumps, inside access to other buildings, anything?

Thanks again.

Yes, but that's for another post. :)

Glad to hear you got it working zellis. As you found out, it took some effort to get it working. I remember it taking me a few dedicated mapping sessions before mine was finished...
