The first reason for updating is security reasons. Your debian 8 eol was in 2020.
the second one is for having more recent softwares, toolchain and so on.

Maybe someone on this forum can give you an answer about UT and debian 11.
Any way, i would bet on a problem with php version not compatible with UT and/or B3.
As i told you, many years away from UT admin.
Debian 8 got python 2 and 3
Debian 11 only have python 3 as far as i understand debian.
That should be the reason.

Why isn't there a real tutorial with a b3 or spunky installation? b3 allows various configurations.
Players are asking for it.

You could try and speak to the community (maybe on Discord) and get a tutorial put together.

Fax, from the beginning of this thread you complain about b3 (or more) not running on your debian 11 server.
I asked for details, no answer.
I tried to give you some advices, no feedback.

Thank you for your answers.
Pat, you've known me for a while, you know how much I care about my servers, but my personal life takes priority. And in the last few days, it has been turned upside down.
I resumed the installation today. In fact, for the b3, you need phpmyadmin and that's what was causing the problem. Now it works.
I will continue this weekend.

Long gone are the days when you could set up a server with a b3 in no time at all.
