You should get more output than that if it loads UrT properly.  Start it from a terminal.  Your log says it disabled the ttyconsole which may have useful information.  Start it from the command line using >& log like I mentioned above.

Trying SMP acceleration...
...succeeded.

You have r_smp set to 1?  SMP support in quake3 is for older machines.  Try turning that off especially if you don't have an Intel machine.  I was running into problems a while back when I tried r_smp with an AMD dual core system.  It would always crash quake3 but sometimes it would take a little while.

The SMP support isn't made for today's hardware.  I don't think ioquake3 even builds an SMP target anymore.

can someone cut the thread from the point 'nationalist' asked a question? oss2jack is already a mess to have it working.

Ok, I'm no longer launching it with smp support.

Here is the logfile:

Did you use r_smp 0 and are you using quake3.x86?  It shouldn't even mention SMP.

I don't like this logfile because it doesn't show enough.  It doesn't show you everything.  You should start quake3 with one of the output capturing ways I mentioned above.  +set logfile 2 doesn't display everything that is sent to the console.

Here's your sound problem. Why did your previous log initialize the sound properly but this log didn't?

Quoting from you first log dump:

------- sound initialization -------
------------------------------------
----- Sound Info -----
sound system is muted
    1 stereo
16384 samples
  16 samplebits
    1 submission_chunk
48000 speed
0xf1636000 dma buffer
No background file.
----------------------
Sound memory manager started

note the line "sound system is muted". :D
Is that enough info? Good luck. :P

(PS: do not worry, that's a common situation)

Will Teamspeak + Urt work easily with ioquake3 (using SDL?) Ill try myself right now :P

SDL doesn't use /dev/dsp so as long as you only want TS and urt to work you'll be fine. If something like kde or gnome or xmms is using /dev/dsp you're back to square 1 and in need of some oss hardware mixing tool  :-(

do this as root:

echo 'quake3.x86 0 0 direct' > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss

Now if you start quake3 as normal user the mmap error is gone and it will have sound (provided you don't have sound channels muted in the whole system with say alsamixer).

edit: if you also play enemy territory you could do well to run same command starting with
echo 'et.x86 0 0 direct' >> /proc/as.....etc
