i have purchased a the quake 3 gold game and have had it over a year now, never gave out any of my info and now all the sudden i cant get into some servers cuz of "invalid cd-key" or "mis-typed cd-key".

i checked the number on my rig to the one on my cd, both the same. so is this one of those things, cuz we are mac, some servers wont let us on?? or maybe my cd-key is out to all the pirates out there. (highly unlikely!!) WTF!!

delete the CD key file ( Users/***YOUR USER NAME**/ Library/ Application Support / Quake3/baseq3/ q3key ) and reenter it .

this will commonly fix the issue.. if not let me know.

it did work, but what would cause UT to do that?? was it just all the upgrades i had to do just to play the game??


oh and hornet, i feel your pain right now, im from denver too.

now UT is saying that some of my .pk3 files are messed up. how can that be if i was just playing that map?? and WTF why am i having so much trouble now and never before, is this cuz of UT 3.4??

i think you should re-download UrT from scratch

Rebuild your config from scratch. also concider a full reinstall of q3
