Hey there,

It's been a while since I last upgraded my current computer, so I want to buy a new rig. I have around 600 to 700 euro's to spend, but I'll be needing everything but a monitor and network card.
I obviously like playing games, but it should also be able to run a couple of heavy applications (adobe bridge/photoshop, dreamweaver etc.) simultaneously without problems.

My main questions:

Processors: intel vs. amd, what is the noticeable difference? Is dual core a good way to go, is hyperthreading of any use?

Video cards: what chipset do you guys recommend? If I want good game performance, I assume that a good video card is way more important than a fast cpu?

RAM: what's hot in the streets at the moment? Haha.

If any of you would be able to answer some of these questions, I'd be grateful. If you know of sites that can help with this (keep in mind I'm a hardware noob), please link.
If you have stores to recommend, keep in mind that I'm in the Netherlands, and have no credit card at my disposal.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah found that one already, probably will go with their recommendations, tweaked for my budget. Thanks though!

And Hybrid, this may sound a little silly, but I'd rather buy everything new. That's just me. Good luck with selling that stuff.

The guy starting the thread is dutch :) And by the way, there's no reason not to buy second hand memory, just do a memtest on it to see if it has any errors. If not, it's fine. But okay, its your choice ;)
