Hi!
I've done a clean install of UrT (3.0 to 3.1 etc. to 3.4).
I start UrT and customize a few settings then I exit UrT.
When I start UrT again the settings are back to what they were before I changed them.
It seems like UrT is regenerating its q3cfg settings from the one in the baseq3 folder.
Is this expected behavior?
Is it necessary to make a seperate config file in order to map keys etc?
I don't remember it being like this in the past but I'm not 100% sure of that.
I'll be checking this post for any new information.
If you have any ideas or explainations, they are welcome.
Thanks for reading this,

create a config with a name different from q3config.cfg by using the writeconfig command once you're done with tweaking your config:
/writeconfig name.cfg
then create an autoexec.cfg file with the following line in it:
exec name.cfg
done :>. Now if you wanna make changes to your config you'll have to do a writeconfig

Thanks for responding guys.
I use ASE to start the game so I believe thats the same as using 'quake3 +set fs_game q3ut3'.
I'm familiar with using autoexec.cfg to start my own config but I've installed the game for a friend and I wanted to let him change his own settings from the menu without writing a config.
I guess I'll just make a config for him (which is not a huge problem), I just thought that it was possible to use the menu in the game for the settings but apparently they won't stick.
I just thought this was strange, thats all.
Thanks again. I have another problem which I'm gonna post seperately.
