hehehe that would be awesome, I haven't actually held one yet.  So we need a hardware interface and some driver software is all I bet.  Just guessing but I'm sure the terminator is proprietary.

i read they are bluetooth and priced lower than 50$. the cost doesn't seem to be an issue, slightly complex if there's no bluetooth support around.

it sounds like a bluetooth adapter is needed (unless it's already on-board) and a wiimote. for motion detection a sensor bar hack. wiimotes get AAs.

#wiili irc.freenode.net

windows driver http://carl.kenner.g...ovepie_download

scripts http://www.vkapadia.com/wii/

needs a sensor bar, there are hacks like using candles or http://www.avsforum....d.php?t=759093  "anything that gives off IR light works" (ir leds, remote controls, ..)

for macs, 'DarwiinRemote' can be used http://apple.slashdo...6/12/07/1815222

< e-Hernick> Right now I'm developing a Linux Driver for the Nintendo Wii Remote
< e-Hernick> fs-a: yes, it's usable as a mouse and it works very well as such

i'm reluctant to try it (for urban terror only) for two reasons. one, the videos released about it show the cursor moving quite "unaccelerated", some geeks talk about it's only a matter of sensitivity # and perhaps scripting the driver but still.. two, urban terror is a usual fps game where the crosshair stays always in the centre, you can't point and shoot since the whole thing will turn to that way (unless i miss something in this logic  :-D) so it may make it unplayable.

on the other hand, if it's able to provide gameplay comparable even to the worst mouse in existence, i think its worth a try.

edit: some talk about valve should release a patch of cs to support wii and its way of gameplay.

i actually did get a controller. i was hoping to post a more complete story but haven't got around it much yet. i made a infrared bar with soldering iron resistors and leds (in usb for power source). it was fun, was needing the tools anyway.

it seems to have great potential with an important problem that i'm sure appears on the wii as well. the ir source goes out of range easily. i was hoping of waving the hand around freely and still working. i guess the wii, applications using it successfully give a lot of weight on the accelerometers for they don't get out of range unless the bluetooth is, though they suck for more than sudden moves.

e.g. moving the cursor with ir is very precice but gets out of range easily - even if having the leds close you can't just wave around -, moving it with the accel meters it sucks.

ps. main source of information about it now is http://www.wiili.org
