it's great :-D i now hear a different kind of audio if something is front or back.

i had to use

(define devices '(alsa))
(define speaker-num 4)

in .openalrc

("speaker number" 4 but it's a 6-speaker setup but it may need that setup for gaming (according to a site i found) or it's only what happens here, or i don't know something better (yet?), or whatever. .asoundrc proved not to be of great importance, even empty plays, even though i got problems with the 5.1/4.0 devices. my tests are slow and unreliable because i only have a 5.1 headset here:p).

i think s_sdlchannels has to be 4 or 6 too.

edit: if it's unset or set to empty, it seems to be fine.
