things were working fine, now I'm getting this when I connect to PB servers...

Your key is not entered correctly most probably. Delete q3key files in your quake3 dir and subdirs, start vanilla Q3, enter key, quit. Try again.

No, they dont. They only fool the simple check to start the game locally. They wont pass the online check.

I have two legit copies of q3 (2 keys), it wasn't a generated key.

One of the few games/software I actually own a legit copy of so I got a little riled up.  :-D

Makako you can order copies of Q3 online. I am sure most companies will deliver outside of USA or Europe.

Or of course, you can use the standalone client
