I'm noob at linux. I asked provider to instal urt server v 4.0. He answered there is (www.urbanterror.net) no linux version to set up urt 4 server. May be truth may be not. Could anybody explainj noob like me from to dl and how to install. i copy to provider and/or translate it. Thanx for any help.

Make a folder and put in q3ut4-folder (from 500MB zip), BattlEye-folder (from the small .zip) and ioUrTded.i386 (from the small .zip).

Then do ./ioUrTded.386 +set dedicated 2 +exec server.cfg

Its for q3a version (as PB 3.7) and io as well?

That's for io. For q3a, you first install quake3 and Point Release 1.32. Then use the Urban Terror zip and make sure the q3ut4 folder is in the same folder as the baseq3 folder and 'q3ded'.

Then ./q3ded +set dedicated 2 +exec server.cfg

For q3a you will also need to copy the pak0.pk3 file from the cd manually or it will complain about default.cfg not being found (as it does on windows or mac os)

./q3ded starts up the q3ded executable (call it a .exe without the .exe in there for now). So this command would be like what you have in your windows shortcut for urban terror, only with another .exe

Is it (executable q3ed) included in every zip? I didnt notice in my one. Or its q3a exec for linux.

It is installed by Quake 3 Arena Installer. If you use ioUrbanTerror, it is ioUrTded.
