I need help installing urban terror 4.0.  I don´t have the Q3A installed so I installed ioUrbanTerror_1.0.zip, UrbanTerror40_full.zip and the Battleye patches then I extracted them to my Urban Terror folder, placing both Battleye pathes to my BE folder.  Next I changed the permission of the iourbanterror.i386 file located in the linux-i386 folder by using ´chmod +x iourbanterror.i38´.  Then I placed a shortcut on my desktop using the ´iourbanterror.i38´ file but the terminal shows this message:

ioQ3 1.33urt linux-i386 Apr  2 2007
----- FS_Startup -----
Current search path:
/home/dan/.q3a/q3ut4
/home/dan/192.168.1.2:31587/Files2/UrbanTerror/linux-i386/q3ut4
/home/dan/.q3a/baseq3
/home/dan/192.168.1.2:31587/Files2/UrbanTerror/linux-i386/baseq3

Sys_Error: Couldn't load default.cfg

What could I have done wrong?

are you setting fs_basepath to the server's address? either you should start it from within the quake3 base folder (ie. from where your executable resides) or you set fs_basepath to that directory.

I dont have the quake3 base, I just want to install the stand alone client and I have not yet started the game, the console just tells me the message:

0 files in pk3 files
Sys_Error: Couldn't load default.cfg

Your q3ut4-dir, BattlEye-dir and executable should be next to eachother in the same directory. I don't get why you have the linux-i386 directory inthere.

Just use the UrbanTerror folder and put in:
BattlEye
q3ut4
ioUrbanTerror.i386

Thanks woekele, I´ve got it working but whenever I connect to a server the game tells me ´battleye client unable to load´.

you have to have the 'BattlEye' dir from iourt's zip where the 'q3ut4' dir is and cl_battleye set to 1 (though that's probably already at that value).

Could you just check the 4.0 faq first? If all doesn't help, we can help further :)

I already have the battleye-dir with the q3ut4-dir and I´ve downloaded the ´Linux Client .so´and ´Linux Server .so´and put it in the Battleye-dir but it still tells me that the battleye client unable to load.

I have read the Urban Terror 4.0 FAQ and the installation guide before installing the game and I think that my computer just does not extract the folders properly.  Now I´ve read tha faqs again and in a terminal, I typed ´ldd BEServer_i386.so´and ´ldd BEClient_i386.so´ and it tells me:

        linux-gate.so.1 =>  (0xffffe000)
        libstdc++.so.6 => /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 (0x40016000)
        libm.so.6 => /lib/tls/libm.so.6 (0x400da000)
        libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x400fd000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/libc.so.6 (0x40106000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x80000000)
and
        linux-gate.so.1 =>  (0xffffe000)
        libstdc++.so.6 => /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 (0x40015000)
        libm.so.6 => /lib/tls/libm.so.6 (0x400d9000)
        libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x400fc000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/libc.so.6 (0x40105000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x80000000)

respectively and I think it does not have anything missing.

Nope, that seems fine.

Could you post exactly how your folder-structure is right now, just to make sure?
