I use the same settings in ioterror(fps= always low) and the q3mod(fps= 125 with an exception to tombs which it will go down to 70ish sometimes) version.

When I set affinity on one core my game lags like crazy when ever theres a sound... I use onboard sound.

Tried updating your sound drivers?

What videocard are you using? Nvidia? Instead of setting affinity to one core, you can also set an option to disable threaded optimization for nvidia, as described in the 4.0 FAQ: http://www.urbanterr.../threading.html

yeah i have that disabled i made a thread awhile ago for some guy having vista issues and that was in it.

but shouldn't the sound issue effect the q3mod version also?

Btw, when you say it's always low, is it always low on a stable fps? Like constant 60? Or.... just going up and down very badly and low?

always low, i have maxfps set at 125 like in the q3mod version and ioterror is below 30 always, if u watch my vids u can see the fps

well it pops up alittle higher in the vids because i dropped it down to 640x480 for recording

Recording the video takes a lot of resources too, so that's not a very good way to check fps Anyway, I have no clue what could cause the lower fps on io.

There was no "threading" option for me, only "Auto" with no other option.

Do you even have a dual core CPU?

If so, there should be an option somewhere to control threaded optimalisations somewhere in the driver's controlpanel. Depending on what version of the driver you have, the precise name and location of the option might differ.

PS: Also try with /com_blood 0 in UrT.
