And....if it were as bad as you make it out to be, it wouldn't be popular. Urban Terror has many different types of gamers as I am sure you know Os....but that doesn't make them bad gamers ya know.

the construction of many old levels are terrible, don't take my opinion ask those who have created levels like INVIS, BK or RabidCow. Streets was one of the worst offenders! Docks could not be "updated" we tried and it failed as it was not updated correctly. Thus the need to go back to square one and start it from scratch. Yeah, I know many will disagree on our decisions and how we develop.

unupdateable? was it because you would lose all of the models and  some  other entities or was it becuase it was just hopeless to decomp it and retex it?

It would require a complete rebuild. Doing a half-ass job by updating textures and making some4 "changes" to the level is not accomplished by updating an old level. To have it done correctly requires time and a complete rebuild. We won't "update" Docks without rebuilding from scratch.
