like when I make a map with one of these, it says:

"sv_setbrushmodel:NULL" brush models (b_models) are the grouped entities made from worldspawns. I deleted all the grouped entities and now it works.

in other words, how do you make a working rotating door?

without more information, I'd say you didn't have both the door brush and the origin brush selected when you created the door.

"sv_setbrushmodel:NULL" can turn up when you have an origin brush in the 'world'

actually i selected the origin brush first, then the door and clicked on the func_rotating_door thingy.I dont know how to set the origin key, thats just it.

uhhh hullo? how do you find the origin of a selected worldspawn?

I had a exactly same problem. after 30 minutes of uber thinking and experimenting i saw that the damn gtkradiant dont like any func_rotating_door entities which dont have any bursh grouped to it. To solve that click L for entities list and DELETE all clean func_rotating_door entities without any brushes. Now, make a door AND an origin textured brush next to it, select them both, set em as func_rotating_door. Finally compile, play with the doors ^^.  Enjoy.

@BTW
ya i know this topic is kinda old, but now it has got an answer. I bet, that alot of young mappers have got a problem with it , Like I had 30 minutes ago :P.

WOW okay the thing is like a week after i posted this i just thot of puting cursor coordinates in and it works. thread ressurection should be illegal.
