.bsp version fuckup Rate Topic: -----

problem:

i have compiled my jump map i was gonna make for ya guys into a .bsp in NOT ONLY q3map, q3map2, gtkbuild, q3build, q3radiant, and gtkradiant.

all of these compilers totally fuck up.

i have had no problem with making .bsps in the past. i hadnt changed any settings, locations, etc... in any UT directory..

effect:

when i try to load the map, it gives me the error message:

"wrong .bsp version (version 0, should be 49)" or somethin like that.

any pointers?

i have reinstalled q3radiant, q3build, and q3map2 and they still dont work.

this has happend on two maps btw

check your worldspawn entities, and are u doing /sv_pure 0

sv_pure 0 doesnt do anything.

i DO infact seem to have a worldspawn with the entity called "_{" and whenever i click on it, even to select it, it screws up my computer. it gives me the "FATAL ERROR" message and crashes.

any tips?

i know the switches arent the problem. trust me i compile maps all the time with the same switches.

its prolly that gayass _{ entity.

Try opening up the offending .map file and removing the junk entity stuff. Of course you'll want to back the map up before you change anything.

once again

...

when i select the buggy worldspawn, the editor crashes. it has happend on 3 maps now.

what?

ok what i did was i deselectd everything, then pressd "i" to select everything. i de-selected the _{ then i copied it over to a new map.

still gives the error message on sv_pure 0.
