Sorry if this has been addressed, I looked and did not see it.

In all versions of URT up until 4.0, the player time reset to zero if you went spec, or changed teams.  Now, it never changes.  If you are spec for first 5 min of match, then join, player clock is the same as the game clock.

Was this intentional in 4.0?

yep, looked weird if people changed team in a pub and suddenly had 30 kills in 1 minute.

By the same idea, it also looks 'weird' to spec the first 5 min, then join and it appears you have been ingame for 5 min?

No if you consider be in game "playing + spec" combo.

:-D

It is weird if you are going to consider this a sort of issue

it's a good point, not to count spec time.

but why?

Because score/time is the most useful value, which gets tainted if a player spent a lot of time spectating.

So this basically forces stat whores to play instead of spec? :P

Nah, everyone prefers to play but it's annoying if one has to take a break for some rounds. Going into spectator mode when one is AFK is the polite thing to do, so this would be a good way to encourage it.
