A real short fragmovie in UrT4:

Quote

A New Recruit - Episode 1

Video stream: Xvid (3200 kbps)
Audio stream: MP3 (128 kbps)
Length: 2m30s

This was my 2nd clan war with InTribe after playing Urban Terror for 3 weeks. The goal of this project was
to get familiar with making fragmovies with UrT without spending days on it (worked on this in 1 day).
I recorded some footages from one round of CTF on ut4_abbey, added a song and tried to sync the music
with the action. Al tho, i got very lazy at the end and my laptop's hard disk space was running out for
more footages.

Enjoy

Download original xvid version here (very dark) 62 MB
Download x264 version here (brightness fixed) 50 MB

Remake version -
Added more scenes and improved the quality of the captures (!!) plus no more hitsounds .

For list of downloads mirrors click here.

Use VLC (www.videolan.org) to watch it if you dont have the necessary codecs installed.

Feedback please!

Few care to read the first info on the movie being its bitrate, let alone that can be calculated. When you say after playing for 3 weeks, do you mean the movie shows great skill? Because it doesn't. And when you say it was done in 1 day does that mean it's great? Because it looks too dark and not near the best quality possible.[/cruelty mode]

good job, nice.

For 3 weeks and your second war, I have to say, nice, but then that's the reason we recruited you ;)

It was a pretty nice movie, surely not deserving that kind of words.. and it's hardly as if this section of the forums is bombed with movies :'D

Nexu seems like a very smart guy, he won't take my half-joking comment at heart.

Think it was pretty nice. No real special kills etc. though, but nice impression of gameplay and syncing to audio is cool. Quality of movie seems indeed not optimal, dunno why.

Quality is not that superb because i had to compromise with the original resolution when recording (only had 10GB of diskspace to work with). The movie was not about skills, more the gameplay and action and trying to sync it to the music (really, i'm not a a Metallica fan, only used this song because it had the right pace).

And i dont mind critics if they were reasoned  and i made it because i couldn't find much of UrT4 movies around. Though someone had to do something about that :D

It was played and recorded on Linux yes. But editing was on Windows.

PS = Why would i go write a Linux installer for UrT if i wasn't on Linux? :P
