no matter what i do to algiers my crosshair will get hidden when trying to aim across the ultra bright walls and ground
-before gamma starts to help it gets a negative side effect and no different crosshair color completely solves this problem
i have had several other members in my clan complain of not being able to see their crosshair cleary in certain situations in algiers
by some odd chance could someone maybe modify the lighting on this map? thanks

[quote name='"EnDYmiON"]I use a red dot as my cross hair' date=' and it goes green when I flash it across a friendly. Works great across practically everything cept Stop Signs.[/quote']
stop signs usually are friendly...so that should be no problem i think
well...algiers was brightened up in 3.2 or sumthin...i found it too bright as well

It seems like some UrT mappers use r_mapoverbright "1" and some use "2" and I find myself switching between them depending on map. On Algiers some areas burn to white on 2 while Riyadh becomes a mush without contrast on 1. If on 0 most maps get very washy. This cvar needs a /vid_restart after changing to take effect. I do this so often I've made a script for it.
=====
set mapover1 "seta r_mapOverBrightBits 1; set mapover vstr mapover2; ut_echo MapOverBrite 1"
set mapover2 "seta r_mapOverBrightBits 2; set mapover vstr mapover1; ut_echo MapOverBrite 2"
set mapover "vstr mapover1"
bind F5 "vstr mapover"
bind F6 "vid_restart"
=====
Replace F5 and F6 with keys of your choice.
Then you can finetune r_gamma with this script

You have to adapt the gamma range to your system, vidcard and monitor which can vary greatly.
cheers
