I am experiencing stuttering gfx and sound while playing UrT after installing ver 4.1.

Nobody else has reported this prob on Win XP so i am thinking it could be a coincidence and is probably a temporary network problem or something, here is a screen grab showing my netgraph.

You can see the "holes" in the green plot at the bottom of my netgraph, these "holes" happen at exactly the same time that i get the gfx stutter and last for only a fraction of a second but are damn irritating & off-putting, also i get these "holes" when i am stood still too & they seem to occur randomly while i am playing, hope that helps with diagnostics..

So.. either i have a temporary network prob or the game is actually freezing causing the netgraph to miss.. i dunno pls help.

I have done all the obvious, i have reset my modem, tried affinity & messed with my gfx settings, but my config settings are pretty much the same as i was when using Urt 4.0 although i am using my old 4.0 q3config.cfg file.

So.. either i have a temporary network prob or the game is actually freezing causing the netgraph to miss.. i dunno pls help.

Holes appear when the game is denied cpu cycles to do its job. I suppose there are many ways that can happen and it could just be something loading up the computer heavily once in a while but also an obscure bug or other condition.

Did you try other .exes? They work, 4.1. is still a q3 mod.

I've always seen the black holes as packet loss. Have you run any tools to see if your connection is experiencing packetloss?

The next link is to a tool that I use. You install it on your pc and can select the IP you want to trace to.

Yeesh man. Why do you want to be like that. I'm just saying that those gaps for me are caused by packetloss. It is another possibility to look into you know.

I get the same thing, its happened for a while now. I thought it was down to texture thrashing, does it happen when you run into a new area in a map?

I've had this, but never associated it with a particular set of factors like a certain map or what specifically was going on at the time.  I've always attributed it to running lower end hardware and restarted/rejoined without much thought.  :|
