dont think it worked, can anyone with experience tell me if I have done anything wrong?

try to not use your router's gameserver feature, only make a simple portforwarding on to your local IP e.g. 192.168.x.x
in your server.cfg leave blank the server IP in your cfg first, if does not work try te set it to your external IP
