I tried that some time ago, it did help some, but not all... I still get about 3-5 minutes of scatching and lagging, plus random peaks at random places and times in the game

PBWEB manual update before going on a server, PB_Sleep and I really don't have any problems

pb_sleep seems to help get rid of some lag, but the lag in the beginning of map will still stay I gues.

ok, does a good job this way, the game's at least playable after approx. 30 seconds and almost flawless after about 2 minutes, but there are still some spots when my ping skyrockets, and it's not my connection doing that.

it's like pb or something the pb's done to something does not use memory writing and use disk write only ... not the slightest clue.

still, thanx, if you have any more ideas, let me know :D

It can be the server doing it, or a gateway. That's how it is with online gaming. :P

yeah, sure, online gaming can suck, but let's face it, we love it :D

but, it's not only online games that do this, playing lan is the same and even playing with bots alone does exactly the same stuff

on all four computers we have here :D we're on the verge of forming the lag-bad-for-no-apparent-reason clan :)

Punkbuster in conjunction with other settings being too high can also cause these problems.

com_hunkmegs and com_maxfps are 2 to note. Try lowering these to see if it helps.
