Recently i tried changing my resolution in Urban Terror 4.1. After the change it no longer opens.

I have searched the forums and tried some of the fixes but nothing is working for me.

Im running it in the latest version of Ubuntu and this is the command line output.

./ioUrbanTerror.i386

Well if its only too high resolution. Go to your urban terror folder, search q3autoexec.cfg and open it with your wordpad. Search the resolution there and try to put there simple 800 height and 600 (that other thing sideways) a.k.a 800x600

Then try to open game.

Check what is the bigest allowed screen resolutio on your videocard and dont set game resolutio any higher.

Most simple way is to check what is highest resolution of your desktop. Mine is 1440x900 so i cant put it to 1920x1020 (hd. Not excat numbers)

Cheers for both of your replys.

I have tried both of them and still no joy. I have tried deleting r_mode. Also setting r_mode to all the different settings (4,6,8) including -1 and setting custom resolution.

I have also tried deleting the .cfg files and that hasn't worked either. Im stumped.

The only difference i see is that in my linux version the "default.cfg" file in q3ut4/zpak000.pk3 is the one with all the settings not /.q3a/q3ut4/q3config.cfg.

don't touch internals of pk3s, they're just default values ..as the name of the file implies.

make sure you don't have

a) an autoexec.cfg overriding r_mode

b) a q3config.cfg in binary dir (e.g. /usr/local/games/urt or wherever you put it)

that forces it; it always works because it takes precedence over all other configs; but you have to find where the other configs are.
