I've tried ~ then inputting /cl_master master.quake3arena.com. Doesn't work. Can someone please explain in simple terms how to fix this? Basic step by step please.

=> Firewall? Your Firewall might block Net traffic
AV software? (your AV software might have sandboxed UrT)
=> Filters? Maybe you just have set it to local? or you search for populated servers, that enforce auth... ?

IF you are talking about 4.2: try master.urbanterror.info (its not better, just faster)

Also:
Paste us a console log.
/comdump logfile.txt
will do. just paste it into either a spoiler or a codeblock please :)

Open up the console (either one of the keys shoudl work: ^ ~ )


• press backspace 4 times
  
  
• enter condump dump.txt
  
  
• now you got a file cump.txt in your q3ut4 folder.

the location of your q3ut4 folder varies from OS.

it is either in your install path (windows) or in your .q3a folder in your user folder (linux). dont ask me for mac.

Thought I would revisit this. I wasn't able to get the console log. I'm using a Mac OSX and couldn't find it in any folders. I also turned off my firewall and still didn't work.
