Like the title says instead of climbing over a ledge your characters holds onto it, in that position you could also climb left and right on that ledge. Maybe if you come at a ledge from the side and at fast speed you can even slide like that. What do you think?

I would also like to be able to hang from a rope and go hand over hand along it. Wall sliding and wall running would be fun.

Do you mean like the grappling hook in quake? I liked it very much. It could be a weapon as secondary (it hurts if grappled to an enemy ). I think it fits in the urt gamestyle, well, maybe except in the jump mode, but it could have a cvar to enable or disable in each server. Grappling hook mixed with low gravity could be fun also.

P.S.: I also think that climbing edges leaning by a side could be interesting.
Also, falling with a forward roll (pressing crouch near the floor) to allow higher fallings without hurting your legs.

Sliding with hands? If you implement it, please add the "burst into flames" effect for the hands.

Oh so UrT is going to be like a new Tomb Raider game? Nobody told me it's going third person.

climbing left or right is pretty nice, it's not even a danger for the gameplay. It would be so cool on vertical maps. Having both hands busy, being slow, having stamina going down, & head movements restricted like on ladders. It's silent, fun, proning verticality and adding new possibilities. I thought once of planting the knife in walls, standing still and decide where to go but this is just simpler & smarter and have the edge rule.

Yes Rayne & we plan to add a QTE system to validate a headshot or a melee attack.

Of course it's not a danger for the gameplay. Climbing left/right on a ledge is already possible by letting go of forward button, strafe and regrab. :P
