Dear FS,

I appreciate your effort in fixing the FPS issue. However my fps is still dropping even after the hotfix. I updated the game using the urtupdater. When I enter the game I see version 4.3.1.

In 4.2 I could enter any server no matter how crowded it was and my fps would not drop and remain steady at 126.

These are my specs
- Intel Core i5-4460 3.2 Ghz
- MSi Geforce Nvidia GTX960-OC-2Gb

I know little about pc's but I run other games like BF3, GTA 5 and BF 4 on pretty high settings without fps drops.

In 4.3.1 I get fps from 126 to 80 when I play on a crowded server. The FPS drop will always occur when there are multiple enemies on my screen.
When I play on less populated servers my fps will remain at 126 without dropping.

Also my graphics settings is pretty low in 4.3.1. I play with 1024x768 resolution. If adding my q3config will help I would be happy to provide.

I can confirm we also have warping players on our server. Server snaps is set to 60.
My client was set to 60. Changed to 20 and game is running smooth. Will test in action to see if it has remedied the problem.

Even if this version may have fixed the bug, I still need R00t's build if I want fluid game.
Official Exe is more choppy/jerky than R00t's build. Plus I'm so used to ikalizer.

I think root doesn't have ikalizer.
Also for me, 4.3.1 fixed issues and no longer need roots build.

root is a port of mitsus built for 4.3 and has ikalizer and dmaHD support (even though dmaHD is in the default binary as well now). he only removed the sound replacements (e.g. for the nades) because he considered those to be technically cheating (and i would agree here)

Regardless of how much memory you have in your system, UrT can only allocate a max of around 1024MB, however it has to allocate some of this for other things too like sound for example. if 800 isn't working try 768, 640, 512, 384 until one of them works however there is no advantage gained by having a high number. 512 i think is the default these days and is more than enough.

You should also consider the issue https://github.com/F...ror4/issues/353 since the Updater does not update the binary files, only the pk3 files are updated...
Players using the updater use 4.3.0 binary files, players using the 4.3.0-to.4.3.1.zip file use 4.3.1 binaries. In the worst case important fixes are not yet available for all players...

ah so the new default is 800?, this seems rather high for a default. I was finding issues with my game (back on 4.2) until I used 640. after that it ran fine even on tohunga which was played regularly on Lil PWny back then. since then my setting has remained at 640 but I will test 800 now that I have 4.3.1 downloaded :P


Update: tested 800, worked fine for me with UrT 4.3.1.
