As many of you have noticed we uploaded a special video to Youtube to entertain you while we were moving to the new website. We hope you enjoyed it!

That was amazing. Great job! If that is any indication of what is to come in 4.2....Bring It!

i think (im not programmer etc.)
it just simplest way to introduce dual guns.

picking it from ground could make some bugs/exploits and problems to solve
ammo etc.

oh it is a good idea imo.

i just thought it'd be from the ground.

if it's from the ui it might be better since it will 'cleaner'.

and urt likes 'polished' imo.

Heya,

first of all: Nice Vid. I was like omg wtf in the beginning and almost stopped watching it but i really liked the end.

However, I actually want to give my opinion concerning the duals and suggest a few things:

I like the idea of duals, they will contribute to the "urban" feeling, UrT should have plus they increase the possible styles of playing (I think of kinda dual-DE-wielding rushing urban ninja).

For balancing it, I'd suggest that both secondaries and sidearms can be dual-wielded (expect of the new shotty and maybe the P90). For selecting them, pick the secondaries as primary and secondary or the sidearms as secondary and sidearm (Dev team would have to add sidearms to the secondary menu) - this would make it impossible to go with a Sr8 and two MP5K what would be imbalanced imho.
One shouldn't be able to pick up a weapon twice so that the picked-up would be dual wielded with the first - I just mentioned why (plus the player wouldn't have any holster to carry it).

Accuracy must be decreased of course, heaviest weapons should have the largest spread and recoil (so pistols should be just a little more imprecise than usual).

Concerning the firing mode, I'd suggest to have MP5 and UMP fire simultaneously (I guess it would be to difficult in real life to have them shooting exactly twice as fast as one) and the pistols one after the other with only the left mouse button - shooting with two mouse buttons would result in terrible spamming plus the accuracy of the DE would be screwed up anyway, I guess no good player would empty both of his DEs as fast as possible.

I hope you like my suggestions, keep the good work going dev team!

Greetings
Adium

For the time being only the side arms and Mac 10 will have the ability to be used in a dual configuration...

So if the DE has 14 rounds as a single...

So there will be a Mac 10 in 4.2? The DE will now have 14 rounds?

-.-

The whole idea of duals is quite attractive to me, but I think the balancing will become a major issue if it's implemented too quickly. Looks like release date +1 month to me :P

Usage wise the plan looks to be you click mouse1 and fire the left weapon, click mouse1 again and the right is fired.

that brings to mind 'auto-firing' with scripts or other external methods.

edit: I mean, making it potentially overpowered:

This might be a balance issue:

- SR8 user takes double the ammo-pistols
----> SR8 user now is both a sniper and an auto user
------->"lol why take autos at all?"

Hence, this all may balance by simply:
- Dual configuration is an explicit "Primary Weapon" setup (UI choice)
- They potentially auto-fire by default
(-If all (single)pistols change to auto-fire by default it might not be a big change)
