uh lets make it so when u fall, your screen gets all red and stuff so that you can't see, and you think you got shot.

I have asked Bladekiller about this in 4.0. Tho i cannot recall exactly word by word what she told me. But the bottom line was: it has to do with rendering performances. Especially depending on the server settings on how long bodies/corpses stays.
So take the worst case scenarios: 32 slots servers (or even 64 slots are i heard some people 'brag' about their servers) full with everyone running around with funstuff and items; Those are lots of extra vertexes on the screen.

maybe max time dead bodies remain should be till that person respawns? would that help? it wouldnt use up any more vertexes than if they were still alive... right? or am i chatting crap again.

Krrrrrrrrrr! Crash is the sound of this thread derailing.


I always wondered where the head goes when my .50 DE round hits someone in the facial area.
Maybe the devs could reuse some of the internal organs models from when you get blown up in bomb mode?

You mean like "instagib" stuff?

I always thought that would be more of a Nexuiz thing...

I thought it would be exaggerated enough to see a head fall off somewhere. An exploding head...well, no comment.
