Would add this great map for snipers, to cycle, but:

- has TDM respawn bug (respawn like FFA)

- it's dark.

Dark like a lot of maps I see in this section of the forum (maps),
great design exercise but not loved by common players.
Dark maps forcing players to use goggle or hurting eyes are bad maps.

Maps that should be keeped as reference are:

ut4_turnpike
ut4_abbey
ut4_algiers
ut4_sanc
ut4_uptown (even I consider this a buggy-unbalanced map for blue, now in 4.1.1 worse then 4.1 for such a new dark texture, argh.)

These maps are winning over other for a simple reason: light.
Somebody could love dark and foggy maps but 99% would disconnect.

Good maps 3rd parts are eg: blackhawk, ut4_desert, ut4_desert_v2

Speaking of desert and its v2, I'm wondering if someone could fix a bug:
with goggle you can see through the tank like wh.

At the end, a call to the designer of ut4_desiertoguarro:
release a versione without the buildings off one side of the map.
Those building confuse players, let the map be a funny semplified version of ryiadh.

It is not my intention to be 'bad',
but i'm tired to check every day this forum and the repository I wrote above,
and see maps that are good for designer but not for players,
like chess-programmers write software for programmers not for chess players.

You do know players can change their r_gamma right?

There are too many "dead" topics with little talk on very interesting maps,
and long threads on maps nobody will play :huh:

naaaa.... r_gamma is not the answer,
btw I have it already at "3" and won't have to fight
with monitor or video card settings every map change :wink:

You could deny my request of a standard brightness,
okay, but check THIS GAUSS TEXTURE
and say "Yes... may be the brightness of my map in the 2,5%...." :laugh:

This thread is "old", i know,
but could be an opportunity for listen to players opinions.
I wrote here, in this old thread because I had a request for hudson,
but I'm pretty sure like I had written to /dev/null, but I hope my warning
would be understood by some designer here.

I check daily http://urban-terror..../?d=&s=date&r=1,
and now, for example let's see

- ut42_commune.pk3
- ut_commune.pk3

There is a wellknown noise in the map, a high frequency whistle.
I read somewhere in this forum the same complaint about it.
So I ask myself: why the designer of ut42_commune did not remove that noise?
If you play that map 2 minutes, you can hear it I think immediatly.

But just to add "insult to injury" ut4_commune was added in the 4.1.1 pack;
Do you think somebody has removed or changed that noise? :happy:
LOL, now we have 3 version of an unplayable funny map!


I won't criticize everything and actually I appreciate a lot what many
people create considering that 99% of the people in the Urt World are just lazy
clickers :tongue:

This is not a personal flame in order to be banned from passport auth,
I decided to write here just for shake your mind:
"Hey designer!! Nice black hole, but... wtf?" :tongue:

Basically, all my unpolite speaking is well explained
