compatibility would be broken if the server had the update and you didn't?

I realize that my PC isn't the newest, in fact its really not. But there are a few spots on the new DOCKS when the frames go down by half. For example in that place with the elevator and the stairway there to one level above. When I go up the stairs to the toplevel and go through the door to the outside, frames are going down really bad. Is that just me ?

Yes, exactly so, not the other way around. With 4.1.1, you can play on any server without any troubles -- server ignores the additional PK3s. Without 4.1.1, you get an error message on updated server, whether or not you have the currently running map or not. (I was under the impression that pack file(s) that include more than just custom maps would cause problems on standard servers, but obviously this is not the case. Note that some of your old demos cannot be viewed with this update on (Uptown fine, Swim broken, etc), precisely because when a demo is played back, there's no server running for the recorded events to occur in; it's some black magic I really don't understand.)

But... I have to put the new zpak001_assets.pk3 in the other pk3 (000) or simply put all in the q3ut4 directory?
How ioUrbanTerror.i386/exe can recognize the newest pk3?

Edit: Put the 2 files into the q3ut4 folder.

It doesn't work! [on archlinux 2010.08, 1200Ghz CPU 700mb ram]

I put zpak001_assets.pk3 in the q3ut4 and .q3a folders and.... nothing! =/

This is done automagically. For example, if you autodownload a map, it comes in its own PK3, and after it's saved on your hard disk, UrT will know about its existence (it checks all the pack files on startup, or at least when connecting to a server).

I could swear there are more descriptive accounts than "nothing". What exactly happens if you run the game? Error message(s)? No new content to be found anywhere?
