I thought all servers with the 2007 executable were going to be dropped from the master server - i see the server list full of them, is this still to happen or is there something preventing it from happening?

perhaps a news article 2-3 days in advance would be good notice for people to update their server or face consequences

Can someone explain to me what I need to add to my iptables?
The new patch still doesn't really protect against the DrDoS attacks.... the moment the get status strings show up in my console, everyone's pings go way up.

I'm running centos 6

the iptables do pretty much the same job, if the first burst of getstatus packets are enough to lag your entire server i think you need to stop hosting from home....

Any ideas when this might stop?
I'm using the patched files combined with iptables and it works quite well, but still my incoming traffic is way too high...
I mean, this can't go on indefinitely!

And the answer is... never will stop... UDP is so insecure ¬_¬

Today my boxes got nullrouted in the morning (CST) for several hours due to some packet flooding spikes of 30000-60000 per second :|

Hello!

Well my previous post on this thread explained i had applied rambetters patch, and bandwidth usage went down and abuse complaints stopped..all looked good...

Well they started coming in again today!!

Have they found yet another exploit to DOS attack from my server (our servers)!??!

I didn't have any abuse messages one or two months ago, when I had unbelievably high traffic, but today my hoster emailed me that there was a proxied DDOS attack coming from my IP.

So the same thing as zombiebob, but I use the official patch. I'll update you if I get more info from my hoster.

I can confirm, the attacks are starting again, as of now 20:25 EET time, the main servers of Urban Terror Romania are down.
Hope to see another patch created soon, this is getting really ugly and its causing a lot of damage to the reputation of the game if you ask me.
