It has become apparent that the Updater is only for Intel Macs and is not a Universal Binary Like Urban Terror 4.1 etc.

In B4 - Get a newer pc/mac

There's this little thing called "money" and for some reason it doesn't grow on trees...

Sadly, I'm in the same boat here... financial priorities are on something else right now... wasn't in the plan to ditch a perfectly working computer... wich btw is more powerfull than many intels... so I guess it will be the end of the road for me (for awhile)... not blaming anyone here .. been playin since 1.27 so I guess its time for a break

We could just wait until TTimo comes back i guess and ask him to compile a PowerPC Mac compatible client/updater...

There's plenty enough power in a PPC to play UrT; they were all there were when the Q3 engine was born. I imagine a UB updater will emerge later (or at least a work around found); it's beta time, after all.

I've tried a work around:

Download all the updater files from the Urban Terror 4.2 Torrent from TBP.se and place them in both my q3ut4 folders and make and authkey manually using pico/nano in terminal and placing that in every folder UrT Related, i started up the client and it spat this out at me:

It's quite obvious that we need to wait for "The Main Man" TTimo to get back until we get a Universal Binary of this.

Ok, looks like PPC Macs won't be getting a client...

We'll have a new 4.2 client by then also. We're dropping support for 10.4 and lower though. Only 10.5 (included) and newer supported (i586 only, no ppc .. bye bye universal binaries).

TTimo

Time to buy a new powerful gaming pc :D

Even if it's not officially supported, with it being open source couldn't somebody just compile it for older macs?

I tried strata's code and let him teamview my mac, i got it compiled and auth works but i get a green tinted screen and i also get green writing on filenames on my desktop and green writing on irc, it essentially tints everything green so i can't read jack all, although when i screenshot it, it all looks normal and i'm sat here scratching my head thinking "WTF is this wizardry =.=", i'm all down for being a test subject for powerpc builds if anyone out there wants to compile some and throw them my way :)

Me, too.

Out of interest, what OS are you using? I'm still on Tiger, here; primarily for work, but also UrT 4.1 runs that little bit faster for me, compared to Leopard.
