Hi, i have yet to play UT. I have just changed to Ubuntu from Vista on my Vaio, this is the first time using Linux and it is an awesome OS but I don't seem to be able to get UT 4.2 to work. I have downloaded it 4 times and followed all the instructions I can find on the net. I have made all the .x-- files executable but nothing happens when I click on them. Can anyone help me?

Seems like you'r starting the wrong file, you'll need the Quake3-UrT.i386 (32 bit) or Quake3-UrT.x86_64 (64 bit) for 4.2.

I just used wine to load the .exe file and UT ran fine. Awesome game!! I'm over trying to figure out running .x86_64 files though. I'll use Wine from now on

I'm using ubuntu 12.04. The installer works fine for me. I just created an empty folder in my home directory and put the installer in that folder. I then ran it in the empty folder. Everything installed and works fine. The installer will download everything you need. When all done, set the launcher file to executable. Should work fine. I just did this two days ago. If you like using Wine then that's great, but you'll probably get a better experience playing natively with ubuntu. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi Clarkmc80, in case of problem like that, the first thing to do is to run UrT from console and see which error messages you have back.
