@postit did you make a game profile for quake3-urt.exe [4.2] in your nvidia drivers?
if not- do it and keep same values as for iourbanterror [4.1], test.
if you had one- check values if they are same as for 4.1.
if you can't make profiles then try to download newer drivers, or post a screen of your general 3d settings [if you can't make profiles]
tell us the resolution you are playing, other settings as vsync and such, tell us the difference in fps you had on 4.1 versus 4.2.

FPS problems still present in current version 4.2.009. My 4.1 FPS was 125 everywhere, now it drops to 70 in places. This sounds like a playable FPS, but it isn't. There is pronounced stuttering effect.

Re: profiles - I originally had no profiles for 4.1 nor 4.2. I did make a profile for 4.2 to test the threading optimization.

Graphic settings:

set r_mode "8"
set r_colorbits "32"
set r_picmip "0"
set r_texturebits "32"
set r_texturemode "GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_LINEAR"
set r_displayrefresh "0"
set com_maxfps "125"
set r_swapinterval "0"

drops happen on crowdy servers or even if you run the game alone on localhost?
are you able to check CPU and GPU load when running UrT? i'm just curious which one is 100%

for me it starts lagging,when i turn around a corner with players shooting
this wasnt happening at 4.1 :(

4.2.009 is much much better.
At last is playable.
I suffer random fps drops but its very rare. It starts suddenly and same way stops.
In all cases restarting game is enough.

Well 4.2 on my PC (a 2009 intel core duo wih 2 mb of ram and a intel G33 video card) runs more smoothly than 4.1/4.1.1 :laugh: guess I'm lucky then :ohmy:

Only happens online. I'm having problems even 2 v 2.

GPU load never goes above 20%. CPU is usually split 50/50 with UrT and System Idle Process.

to be honest it looks like your CPU runs out of resources.

the CPU Load splits between 2 cores, because ioq3 can't use natively more than 1 core [AFAIK], i would also suggest to regain some system resource, i see you're using process explorer [nice tool] and you have there like long out of date PnkBstrA.exe punkbuster quake3 leftover ;) if you have no other games using punkbuster feel free to remove this file from your system, does nothing. try running the system without comodo.
