well if I may.. scares not only newcomers but also oldies.
i have been playing on and off since beta 2 (!!!)

but after spending several hours trying to get urt to work, i can't.

no servers list.
for some weird reason urt also makes my internet connection bug so I have to plug/unplug my ethernet cable after.

this sucks cause a lot of work seems to go into the game.

please fix this, im a newcomer and have been looking forward to playing this all day :/ like 2.f4 says, it will scare newcomers away, getting a bit irritated with this broken file :( how active are the admins on this site?

or can someone else link the file if they have it?

I'm currently downloading the previous beta. It's only going at 240kB/s but at least it's faster than the updater, which is going at 5kB/s. My connection can do 2MBytes/s.

It' the same for me, Updater failed each time even if I start it in a new folder. It fails as if I have a connection error.

2 Days ago I tryed to download the complete file UrbanTerror42__10.zip file (not accessible since yesterday in the download area).

Is there a way to download this F....g update .

calin: a few days ago, kaonic posted a link to the Brazilian community package of 4.2.010 (1.24 GB) — I have no idea whether this works, since it’s hosted on Mega _{(<rant about stunningly incompetent web developers and the many (ab)uses of JavaScript>)}.

EDIT: And of course, the Beginner’s Guide to Urban Terror linked in my sig has a section with direct links to all files — and a changelog so that you could only download the files that have been changed from 4.2.009.

My feedback:

It works finally!!!!

I download the biggest files from the section with direct links to all files with a download manager (downloadThemAll in my case under firefox) because it's fail all the time with the standard downloader

Alter I start UrTUpdater to finish the work (for little files) to be sure that every things is ok.

Now I can play.
