Welcome to Urban Terror; Today is the day we have all been waiting for. Beta 1 is released. We know about some of the glitches, but to help us out, make sure to come to our forum or irc.enterthegame.com #urbanterror and report any bugs you find.
The beta is sitting at a healthy 22 megabytes, and is available in 4 different formats; so start downloading! Note: you need Quake 3 1.17 to play
EXE Format (Download this one if you arn't sure what to do.)
ZIP Format (Recomended download.)
TAR Format
TAR.GZ Format
Don't forget, you also have to download the maps and their media to play the game, if you haven't already. To install them, just extract them to \quake3\q3ut\
The maps - 4.89mb
The media - 16.8mb
And for those of you who don't feel like finding out themselves, the following maps are included in the beta: hotel, mbase, streets2, swim, and trainyard.
Last but not least, make sure to bind your keys in the setup->controls menu.
Have fun, and happy fragging!

Urban Terror has turned 18 \o/
It’s mindboggling to think that I personally have been around for nearly half of the game’s entire lifetime. Nearly every feature that was new and controversial when first introduced has now existed several times longer than the good old stuff everybody liked (for better or worse).
4.2 was released 6 years ago. The 4.x series alone is over 11 years old. Walljumps were added 14 years ago. Abbey, Algiers, Austria, Casa, Docks, Riyadh, Ramelle, Sanctuary, Swim, Turnpike and Uptown have been in the game for at least 15 years, many of them longer. Vital organs were removed from ARIES 16 years ago. Sprint, stamina and encumbrance are 17 years old.
This game is old. Old as balls.
