This would then lead into an official SID approved 3rd party map. What does that mean for the mapper, players, SID, and community? Exposure of the map to the players, recognition of the mapper, recognition of SID by the players seeing they (SID) appreciates 3rd party mapping (this is IF SID does appreciate 3rd party mapping), the mapper rewarded with recognition and ambition to continue and produce more maps, and the community continuing to remain fresh with new maps easily put into their view (this is important, the unadvertised map no matter how good always risks falling into the abyss).

You do realise that the SID team is half the size it once was. This stuff is up to the community to look after. Not us. We have quite enough on our plate already.
