Hello,
I'm experiencing mouse input delay in Urban Terror under Ubuntu (8.10). That is to say, whenever I press the LMB to fire, it actually fires (fires as opposed to hits - this is not a ping problem) a few milliseconds after - a problem I've never encountered under Windows XP. The same is true with regards to the RMB, which I use for zooming in. Mouse movement is OK. Keyboard input is OK. The problem only appears to apply to the mouse buttons.
IMHO, this is not due to 'lag'. I have even tried setting up a server of my own using bots (so as to enable shooting), and the same problem persists, with my ping obviously being 0 all throughout.
I'm using a USB mouse.
Ubuntu 8.10.
My graphics card is Radeon X1600
If there's anything else you need to know, please tell me.
Also, I tried turning off Compiz with the metacity --replace command (I found that otherwise the mouse doesn't respond at all).
BTW, I also have openSUSE 11.1 installed and I'm also having mouse input delay, but it doesn't appy to mouse buttons as with Ubuntu, which are just fine, it applies to mouse movement.
Any help would be appreciated!

vovan, what is your mouse brand? Check if it occurs with all mice. How are you verifying that its slower, by sound or by visual. Because it might be sound lag ( a common issue too).
You might want to switch to/from evdev and mouse drivers. They are different - depending on your hardware, it might perform better.

Make sure in the game your settings for in_mouse are set at -1
I would also try upping your usb mouse poll rate. http://wiki.quakewor...se_polling_rate
If you are using a older Logitech Mouse then you might like to try lomoco as well
here is there web page http://www.lomoco.org/
