Hey thank you but is it able to do video editing? I recorded the video using OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) which outputs really nice videos, but then when editing them using MovieMaker it just destroyed the quality.

Any tip? :)

Sincerely i don't use MM, probably it's a codecs problem(i'm groping in the dark), try another editor like Avidemux or other

??? video editing ???

  • Try and mess around in Movie Maker on your export/render settings: change to mp4 files with h264 codec at around 15.000 - 20.000 bitrate.
  • The videoproject seems to be 16:10, as there are small vertical bars.
  • The image itself isn't filling the whole screen, which could be due to a lacking checkmark on a setting in OBS on the Source: "Stretch image to screen".

Maybe just switch to another piece of software?
  • YouTube has an editor in itself, so you could upload all the stuff as private and edit it together there.
  • I personally would suggest Sony Vegas though the cheapest of those would be 47$.
  • The most promising free editor seems to be lightworks, though I cannot vouch for it, as I have no experience with it.
  • Avidemux has also been suggested by ottone and several lists on free editing software, but to me it looks very nonintuitive and messy. I could be wrong though, as I have no experience with that one either.

If you want you can also send all the raw files over dropbox together with a list of instructions, and I can send them back edited and ready for upload.

For simple video editing (cut, append) without modifying quality, I would also recommend avidemux.
At first the interface seems not very intuitive, but it is not difficult. You can mark (A, B) a section to delete.
Add another stream and then output to new file without changing codec ("copy" mode video or audio). It is too fast as it does not recode the video and it preserves all the quality in the original. You can copy the video to other container (.avi .mkv) without reencoding very fast. If you want to use any filter or effect or to change resolution, etc., then you can not use "copy" mode.

Nice job with physics it seems it will be a greatest hit.
