Hello Lads n Ladies,
as written on our entry page in the current news, eChain TDM League wants to start a new Cup in some weeks, in case we get enough interested People to play in that Cup. Now we want some Feedback from the Community, whether they'd like to play in such a Cup or not. Here's the News entry:
Edit: It's possible that we make 6on6 instead of 7on7.

Some Questions you may come into:
"Why the Hell do the guys forbid sr8 and psg1?"
Because this Cup will contain big maps - With sr8 you just need to sit arround and wait for someone to snipe em. This Cup should contain movement, and as it's Follow the Leader - disallowing those weapons is a good thing imho. We know that some guys can move with sr8 quiet well - But not everyone does.
"Ok, you disallowed sniper weapons - Why is g36 allowed?"
The g36 has a quiet slow shoot-frequency - Also if you make one shoot with a g36 you aren't dead like with sr8.
"7on7 - that'd mean you need many players, some clans don't have enough"
You could use some friends for your Team at this Cup or you play together with Players from another Clan, as long as they aren't in that Cup. As we're playing on big maps, 7v7 is the best choice, because at 4on4 or 3on3 you would most likely never reach your enemys.
"That'll result in camping"
Sure - It will. And thats why it's called "UrT can be different" - On this big maps with FTL you will need to play tactical and carefully. You have just two options: Playing carefully, or Rushing all the time and hope to get your opponents.
So - Interested?

Follow the Leader (gametype 5)
At the beginning of each round the server selects one person on your team as a leader. The leader is designated by a red or blue helmet. A flag also spawns with your team. Your goal is to score as many points as you can. Points are awarded as follows:
*
If your leader touches the enemy flag: 5 points
*
If you kill the other team, with your leader still alive: 3 points
*
If you kill the other team, but your leader is dead: 1 point
Only the leader can get points from touching the enemy flag. The round ends when a leader on a team touches an enemy flag, or either team is killed. If you are killed you cannot respawn until the end of a round.

FTL is FTW!!!
This would be a nice and new league.
Since i see follow the leader some ways similar to bomb, i think it could be played on medium maps like abbey too (i think 5on5(max 6on6) on medium/big maps without sniper prohibition would be better).
I think that "we" dont have enough ftl experience and then its hard to find the best settings to play it .
Ofc im just giving my pov (I dont like the 7on7 idea since I won't get enough fps :PP) and im happy because i always liked this gametype that has always been underrated.

definitely a fun idea. For optimal gameplay I'd recommend 6on6 though. Like ryuu said, most players are used to 5on5 and its hard to find enough clans with at least 7 members. But since you're gonna use big maps I think 6on6 is a good compromise.
Also, I wouldnt ban any weapons in this cup. See how it goes with all weapons included first; if the flow isnt good somehow u can always take that information for next cups.
