Idi I Smotri
Miller's Crossing, Barton Fink , The Big Lebowski. Coen Brothers. Hell. Yeah.
Chinatown
The Godfather I and II
Raging Bull
The Usual Suspects
Rushmore

I enjoyed "Barry Lyndon", "Spartacus" and "A Clockwork Orange". Kubrick's real masterpieces are "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "Dr. Strangelove". "Eyes Wide Shut" should probably have stayed in the can.

Sounds like it's worth a try. I think that's one reason why Vanilla Sky didn't do well critically, it's a movie one has to watch in a certain mindframe because there is so much to it.

heres your mind frame: Sesame Street: The Adult Version
Avenue Q isnt a dramatically moving bit of theatre, it is a hilarious, sometimes satirical rip on living in NYC and since puppets are used, it sort of mocks Sesame Street. I don't know why you would need a frame of mind, I mean, it isn't 'heavy' like some plays are, where they leave you feeling well kind of down, or moved in some fashion. It's really the stoner film of plays, it only exists to make you laugh. And it does a damn fine job of it too.

LOL, how about 7 samurai? That's also a movie with Toshiro Mifune.

Shichinin no samurai is a great film, but the concept and ideas has been copied so many times in other things, it might not be as compelling as it should have been (due to watching other 'homages' first) that is why i recommended rashomon cos it's a totally different experience. *sigh* i could talk for hours about Kurosawa, all the way from Yojimbo/Sanjuro to Ran.

maaaaaaaatt daaaaymooooooon (i say it randomly to my brother too)

I saw American Beauty for the first time... it's a really well told story and the chachters were believable so i really got into it [semi spoiler] the only thing i didn't like is how it seemed that everyone was forced to have a reason to do what happened in the end... [/semi spoiler]

One of my best friends loves Nicholas Cage... I feel he ruins most of the films he is in... I would have enjoyed Face/Off more if it was someone else. He didn't annoy me as much in The Rock though, but I can't bare to watch even 15 mins of Gone in 60 Seconds cos of him :|

Paranormal Activity was about as scary as Cookies left testicle. I was really expecting some kind of fright but blah...

Shaun of the Dead is a masterpiece of comedy-if you like Zombie Flicks!
Zombieland-Great
Dawn of the Dead New Version
28 Weeks Later

The Thaw was ridiculously bad-not worth torrenting

Saw's make me quiver but I love them

Anything that Rob Zombie makes-Halloween 2 being his latest
House of a 1,000 corpses!!

Grandma's Boy is insanely funny
Office Space-Classic
Friday-Classic

Haven't seen Avatar yet

Blind Side is inspirational and surprisingly good.

Spider Man 4 is being filmed-I will watch it and probably ask myself why later...
Iron Man 2-gotta have it
Thor-Not really stoked about...

Next with Nic Cage was half decent but a let down
8 millimeter-liked it
Jennifer's Body was the worst movie of all time(Except for the Megan Fox kissing a blonde-made it all worthwhile)
Stan Helsing was stupid funny
Obsessed was good if you like that kind of thing.

I wasn't much of a fan of Cage. But i though he portrait his role really good in Lord of War...
