Though i think the new weapons look flawless individually, i kinda dislike the direction this is going stylewise. In my opinion the new weapons got too much hillbilly appeal to seamlessly integrate into our current arsenal. On the other hand, maybe im just having the wrong perception of the game, overrating the urban in Urban Terror :>

There is always the P90.

I dont think they intend to transform all weapons into wood weps.
Cause if they do...
I would need Chuck Norris's stick thingys:

And also a wooden ninja katana, just for fun:

As far as i know, urban terror its not a "real" simulation of killing people.
So,in that order, there shouldnt be too much realism in it.
But at the same time, not to be using guns from Toy Story 3.
The "sweet" balance between realism and fun would be broken if you guys put youre "ideeas" into too much realism.

First of all, the devs are not losing themselves. The team is divided in departments. Here's the breakdown:

Thanks for the clarification. I still wonder whether the team is working towards a predetermined set of new features, or whether they're adding new stuff along the way, which could indefinitely extend the development cycle in my opinion. Then again, I'm not a game developer, and I realize that you guys are working hard and don't owe anyone an explanation of your agenda, so please realize I'm just wondering aloud here. If you do have an answer, I'd be delighted. I'm a huge fan of transparency, although I realize it could create annoying expectations with people who think Frozen Sand is dedicating their whole life to making them happy.

Anyhow, I can hardly wait for 4.2 to arrive, since I've put UrT on hold because of the frustrating hackers (I only play pub). Good luck with finishing it, I'm looking forward to enjoying your hard work!

At the moment we just want to finish and polish some things. We're not adding new things that take ages of time, but we are finalizing. While the coders do their work the art production simply continues and we produce new weapons, maps, and more.

New weapons?
So you guys wanna change all of them ?
And by changing all of them,do you also change the specifications on each weapon [like firerate, damage, and so on],or just the visual part?

Why not add more weapons?
I mean, keep the actual one,and add even more.
I know that it would be hard to think of new ways why you should keep the sr8 and the new sniper [its just an example],in case they have the same specifications, and its just a matter of design.

But im guessing that once with a new version, and changes of some stuff...the ingame menu will also change, allowing you guys to model it in a way that it lets you add more weapons of youre choice.
