Never said it would, just pointing out it's ancient and takes damn ages to do anything of significance.
Great tool = chance for more people to have a go.

Why not use instead id tech 5 engine? I think it's a better engine than frostbite 2.





As for the licence, in a couple of years it will be released open source (probably when id tech 6 will be released).

Of course till then let's not distract developers from doing their job and enjoy the new ut hd when it will be released.

What is Skyrim? A new game from Bethesda? I really enjoyed Oblivion.

We can't afford id tech 5. We do not want to develop on an open source engine because we can not do anti-cheat on one.

Some of us are using 3ds Max for making our maps and only using GTK Radiant to place entities like spawns.

Isn't GTK Radiant old as hell, with multiple derivatives arising, including NetRadiant(Xonotic), DarkRadiant(Doom3 mods) and ZeroRadiant (id's internal one)?

nowdays there are/will be 10.000 games with stunning graphics, as those shown in the videos posted here, so I think it would be very nice havin an alternative game (UrtHD) with not-the best-graphic-ever-seen but with the most g r e a t fps rate/gameplay on earth

and, of course, don't get me wrong, the alpha has AWESOME GRAPHICS FOR A FREE GAME, that's the MOST IMPORTANT THING

yep, i will be getting it. I liked oblivion.

I think UrTHD will look great for the engine its on, especially with the changes to the engine 27 has made.

You can do this with every game, it's called lowering and changing the settings :)

About skyrim, I can't wait. It's coming 11/11/11, that's still a few months but I'll get it as soon as possible!

yeah, on either bit-tech.net or eurogamer.net they had a podcast and they were talking about the parts of the game they had been shown, they said it was great but one amusing thing happened, two guards were talking to each other and the main character shot one with an arrow in the head, then the remaining guard says "shhh, i think i hear something" lol, so i guess in a game of that size there will be a few amusing bugs.

and yeah, turning settings down will work for the "fps over graphics" crowd.
