In that effort I'll be doing workflow videos called Working with Power Tools as well maybe put on a show from time to time. WWPT does not have to be just about making stuff so if you can come up with some fun or funny ideas post away.

Now things are kicking off, a mapper will need to know some specifics before starting work.
We're going to know the precise sizes of the urthd player models, flag models, etc. Perhaps make it possible to download cheap models (boxes) to represent these things.
It seems easy to add ctf flags but how are we going to define bomb spots, cah flags, etc in 3rd party maps. Are we going to be able to use "conditional" map structures so that we can make ts/bomb/ctf versions of our maps.
Regarding distribution of 3rd party maps, how will this work? Will there be a download url setting similar to the current system or will the maps need to be distributed in some other way.
What format will 3rd party mappers use to pack their map?
It might be a good idea at some point to create an official FS "style guide" that mappers can refer to when i doubt. Perhaps include a list of "ideals", where you can specify what you would recommend a mapper and would not include. For example, vehicles, other travel devices like jump pads, teleports.
I've limited my questions, just to get the ball rolling but personally, I have a zillion more.

I did some measurements for 4.2 a while ago. I'd say you can work with those numbers since the idea is to replicate the movement as close as possible. In short, the player is 183 cm tall and you probably want to build everything in real world scale.
As for the other questions: I don't know.
Third party map making, packing and distribution is still something not even Epic has figured out yet how to implement into games created with UE4. We are not allowed to distribute the editor, so we either have to create an editor from scratch (or maybe the upcoming Unreal Tournament will have one, we can use) or limit the ability to create custom maps to UE4 subscribers. The second options would mean you would at least once have to pay 19€/$ to get access to UE4. However, then you would have complete access to every part of the editor including blueprints, which would allow you not only to create maps but a completely new game, which is obviously against what we want in FS. We want you to create maps for UrT, not end up in a turn-based space ship / tank battle game when joining an UrT server. There are some discussions about this on the ue4 forums here and here.
As for distribution, there's the possibility of using Epic's UE4 marketplace, steam, auto downloads or with simple download links. I guess this also depends on the outcome of the 3rd party editor question.
So yeah, no definite aswers for most of your questions. (unless Frankie knows more?)

I like the new style Frankie-V.
Thanks for the answers, if you guys actually get this thing built and if it really is going to be moddable in that 3rd party maps can be added to servers, CMM will be there, somehow.
The CMM header graphic
*Barry White (can't remember why he's there)
*A blue "my little pony" (Rylius loved that crap)
*Rik Astley (see here for more information)
*The duck (used to entertain DagF)
*The Canadian Flag (something to do with thelionroars)

LOL glad you liked it and was a lot of fun on my part once I stopped thinking TB.
If you did not mind being the foil for my amusement by all means serve up some of the zillion questions you have and we will do it again.
AS for responses bring it baby. :D

I don't mind that but I think I'll have more to ask once I've made a ue4 map and you have an alpha version running.

Understand. You have to figure out the questions first ;)
Keep in mind though that the editor supports in editor over rides and there are already a few MyGame blueprints that you can plugin to proxy almost any game type. There are a few at the moment but more on the way from what I hear.
