No. In an early version of 4.2 (I don't remember which one exactly) I added a mod version check in the server browser so that only servers from the same version as the client get displayed. There is no change in master servers needed for 4.3.

Copy/paste your 4.2 qkey file in your 4.3 folder and you'll still be recognized by your favorite servers.

thanks for your feedback.
That sounds good! And sounds like a well planned release.
So 4.2 and 4.3 will co-exist?

So I can just hope that the issues mentioned by several people here in the forum and the ones at github bug tracker will be taken into account.
And we are all excited about open beta release 3.

I completely agree. The new loadout menu is 20 steps in the wrong direction

I desire to test, but i install and nothing, it start 4.2 version.
I have 4.3 in another folder.
What i do?

This is said, that you have to do all alone.
I do not have any knowledge in C code, I am just scripting in Python (developing Spunky Bot)...

My biggest concern is currently the configurable snaps value.
Since there is only 1 physical server in Europe for testing available, it is hard to say, if lags are coming from the game or the server.
I personally realize many minor lags, feels like an instable connection. If this would be 4.2, I would not play on this server and would search for a new server.

With snaps 125 and max. packets it is possible to reduce ping at maximum (just see the upper line).

But gameplay does not feel comfortable...

So we have to hope, that your QA team is able to identify possible issues with snaps on different servers.

There is no need to install anything.
Just unzip into an empty folder, open this folder in your favorite file explorer and click on Quake3-UrT.exe (when you are using Windows).
Do not use any shortcut / links on your desktop...

Thanks for the hard work. Sadly I have some very bad FPS problems. I have been playing this game for years and always get 125 FPS at all times. Now with 4.3 it is around 50 or 60 and drops to 40 with massive frame drops when people/bodies/shooting is in the screen. I was playing CTF on Abbey, later on Docks with instagib the FPS was normal. The P90 is way too big and when looking to the left it blocks the crosshair, also the FR-F1 sounds weird with the silencer.

• Added cg_radioPos (0 - normal, 1 - directional, 2 - directional + distance like the player is yelling)
• Added support for choosing no primary weapon (it was possible before if you edited the 'gear' cvar)
• Added ammo colours
• Added centered team scores (cg_drawTeamScores 2)
• Added movement keypress overlay: cg_drawKeys (1 - visible only when in spectator, 2 - always visible)
• Fixed defusers appearing dead on the miniscoreboard #191
• Fixed some issues with the /me command
• Fixed unknown values for $crosshair #185
• Fixed player name colouring in FFA #192
• Fixed cooked grenades being fired and dropped on death
• Cleared filter bar on connect #178
• Fixed stamina drain on ladder sprinting #188
• Blocked multiple flags from being taken by the same player

• Fixed the ability to boot another player while holding the jump key despite being on the ground

4.3.0 RC2 Changelog
• New: admins can perform rcon commands directly from the in-game chat box without having to know the rcon password. Everything is handled by the auth system. Documentation incoming.
• New: auth-unban rcon command. AccountUnban in the server logs
• Fixed the Benelli and the P90 looking too small
• Fixed the missing TOD50 skin and icons
• Tweaked the P90: less damage, more accuracy
• Disabled the countdown sound by default
• Gun Game: added a mandatory helmet to everyone
• Gun Game: added the weapons introduced in 4.3
• Gun Game: fixed the level randomly showing 0/16 on the HUD
• Gun Game: latched the cvar g_hardcore (needs a reload to be applied)
• Gun Game: added the player's level to the scoreboard, and players are now sorted by their level
• Gun Game: fixed being downgraded 2 levels when booted or killed with a knife
• Gun Game: fixed earning a level when killing yourself with the HK69. Downgrades a level instead

Hi,

I tried instagib server, game often crash. other players had same problem too.

P90 is not ok, recoil is too much and it look like your gun is jumping in and out hands.

Something strange also, when shooting , i hit the target and few seconds later i have the sound done when you hit.
