Wow, you've done one thing in 8 years for competitive urt, gj, sorry for saying u never did anything. Soon u might even do Urt.HD
Wrong information.
During the, lets say, assembly of 4.2 we went to the competitive sites and "asked" them what they need as to game improvements that would attract new players and all we got back was spread sheets totally restructuring weapon specifications.
Think about it.
How does changing the specs attract new players?
In all games weapon specs is what it is and there is never a perfect balance because it was then the weapon load out would be unbalanced.
A case in point.
A e-sport organizer showed up one day and posted an offer to organize a ladder event but was shot down by so call professional competitive gamers arguing with him that is not how a cough cough Urban Terror competition is organized. In 2015 this is how e-sports are organized for events with million dollar cash prizes. You have the main event that everyone came for and while the audience waited would watch warm up events, like Urban Terror, that has to be completed in a set time.
This is just one case that has nothing to do with FS but occurs in the "competitive" backyard where those involved in the action should only worry about two things. Where and when to show up for the matches.
As for Urban Zone.
Clan Base got shut down by their own sever host, booted out, and Urban Zone stepped up to save the up coming season as part of their community effort. Once again someone willing to organize something having to put up with the bullshit instead of being applauded as a community hero.
Instead of going on how UZ "stole" clan base why didn't the competitive community help them out setting up new hosting?
The good side of things.
We screwed up on the stamina that broke every jump map. Once again we sent someone over to the Jumpers and asked/said, once again the post is probably still there, that we need their help sorting it out. From "their" community they send over a few of their top jumpers and we together fixed the problem in short order and added a few feature requests at the same time.
The experiences is how it should be with no BS but rather everyone working together to fix a problem.
This is how it is and if the comp scene wants or needs attention then they need to clean up their own backyard first, maybe organize a player association that every other sport has on the planet, as we no longer look at weapons spec changes with out detail reasons and the best thing a comp player can do to help out is to show up when and where organized events are staged under "their" rules.
doing "stuff" with dead things.
